Survey with the IDPs in Bannu

In the wake of Military operation “Zarb-e- Azab” against the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) a large number of residents from North Waziristan in FATA moved into city of Bannu in KPK Province. As per media reports, the number of Internally Displaced persons (IDPs) touches to a million form that region. IPOR carried out a comprehensive survey in the month of august  for a US based client Pechtar Polls to see whether if what kind of problems these IDPs are facing.

Respondents were asked questions regarding their needs, problems and awareness about current situation. Responses showed that majority (68%) of IDPs expressed that they have problem of accommodation and another 18% said safety       and some 14% expressed privacy for women as the main problems

A total of 500 interviews were conducted and the selection of the participants was strictly random using snow ball method in order to get representation from different tribal groups a quota sample was applied. The target age group of the respondents was age 18 and above for both male and female respondents.
