Research Training Academy, module IV on Qualitative Research was held for political party members

Under the on-going political party development project, IPOR in collaboration with IRI conducts the fourth module under its of Research Trainings Academy (RTA) for the members of political parties. IRI and IPOR in partnership with National Democratic Institute (NDI) and with funding from U.S. Agency for International Development has been undertaking this program for the political parties since 2011.

 In this two-day training held on October 1-2, the module focused on the use of qualitative research technique to obtain the public opinion for political decision making.  Joel down (Director Accadian, international consultant) and Traiq Juanid (Executive Director, IPOR) jointly conducted the session.  Tariq Junaid emphasized on how to develop discussion guides for conducting qualitative research as well as the cultural barriers and limitation of qualitative research in context of Pakistani socio-cultural environment. While Mr. Joel down focused on moderation and analysis of focus group discussions.

 A practical session was also arranged and groups of all participants developed discussion guide, conducted focus groups and based on their findings prepare an analysis.
