IPOR Presents Results of the First Baseline Survey to Punjab Government Officials & MPA's

IPOR presents results of the first baseline survey on 28th October 2014 on the performance and service delivery of different departments of government of Punjab.  The meeting was attended by ministers and secretaries of concerned departments, members of provincial assembly of Punjab and learned academic on the subjects.  IPOR presented the reports based on findings of the surveys of public perception of four sectors namely Education, Health, Agriculture and Irrigation.  Each session was chaired by the relevant ministers of the Punjab.

The aim of research study was to evaluate the public perception about performance and service delivery of Government of Punjab in these four sectors. Tariq Junaid, Executive Director IPOR and Dr. Kahsif Malik senior consultant IPOR presented the findings to the participants and lead the discussions. It was informed that surveys were carried out in all 36 districts of the Punjab and total 29,721 respondents. The survey revealed that almost half 45 percent respondents are satisfied with the overall performance of the Government Departments in Province Punjab while overwhelming majority believe that Punjab Government project (metro bus, laptop scheme and fight against dengue) have positive effect on the welfare of the citizens. It was also revealed that majority of respondents consider basic health facilities unsatisfactory in the province, whereas in educations sector majority want to increase the quality of education in government run-schools.
