IPOR conducted Impact Evaluation of the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF)
IPOR successfully conducted an impact evaluation of PEEF scholarship program. PEEF is an initiative of Government of the Punjab (GOPb) with an aim to assist the talented and deserving students to attain their educational goals. So far around 150,000 scholarships have been awarded under this scheme. To evaluate the impact of this mega educational initiative of Government of Punjab, IPOR was commissioned an evaluation project.
rnrnIPOR used a mix, qualitative and quantitative, methodology to collect data from scholars and their parents. Focus group discussions with the parents/ guardians of scholars from secondary and higher secondary levels were conducted whereas quantitative interviews with randomly selected PEEF scholars and alumni have been carried out in the month of October.
rnrnThe results of survey show that majority 96% of scholars achieved this scholarship on open merit. 86% respondent shared that they had been informed regarding PEEF scholarship through a letter sent by PEEF. The application submission procedure is also considered easy and 87% students didn’t face any issue.
rnrnMajority 82% scholars believe that PEEF selection process is effective. Respondents stated that they get stipend on date committed by PEEF however they also requested to increase the amount of Scholarship.
rnrn83% scholar gave credit to PEEF scholarship for brining improvement in their performance in education.
rnrnMost of the (49%) scholars believe that if they have not been supported through PEEF scholarship they couldn’t continue their education.
